Dedication

I would like to dedicate this blog to my Nana, Phyllis, who I would like to call the original Red Hot. She is my complete inspiration for this blog and my entire life. She passed away in 2005 but she has left an everlasting impression on me. She was a traditional Jewish cook who made a bunch of special dishes. She stuck to the food she loved to cook, and she mastered it like no one else. Some of her dishes included GIANT matzah balls, brisket, blueberry pie, lemon meringue pie and rugulach (recipes to follow).

My Nana and I were very alike, and even more now as time goes on, and not only because we are both red heads. She has taught me to persevere through adversity and through the struggles in life. Although she has faced hardship in her life, all she wanted to do was put on a good face and better other people’s lives in spite of her own. She wanted to touch other people with her big heart and to give other people happiness in life. She always saw the light in me, and we connected in that way. She understood me better than anyone and made me believe that I can accomplish anything and be whoever I want to be if I put my heart into it. I want to try and share my Nana’s love and devotion that drove me to begin this new chapter in my life, starting this blog, where I can share my love for food, health, and happiness with the world. She has inspired me to follow my heart and always keep on going with a smile, no matter what. She was such a strong, courageous, and incredible lady and I hope that I can make her proud and fulfill my dreams, starting with Red Delicious and Nutritious.
